Raymond Costello

Tribute

Raymond James Costello, age 80, a beloved figure of Pittsfield, MA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on February 20, 2025, after a life richly lived in service and kindness.
Raymond was born in Pittsfield the only son of the late Patrick and Lucy Costello. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1962 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Finance degree from Siena College in 1966. Ray started his career with General Electric Company right out of college. His career advanced over the years and he retired in 2000. He was proud to have instructed the future generations of GE employees in the financial management program during his time there.
A dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Ray also supported St. Joseph's Church, aiding the Monsignor with finances and instrumental in the project of the building of the parish center.
Ray's favorite place to be was his expansive back yard. He spent many hours plowing and admiring the abundant wildlife that called that land home.
Ray was a devoted Notre Dame fan and loved attending countless games over the years.
Raymond Costello was strong and steadfast as well as a beacon of light in our community. Known for his strength, integrity, and unwavering support, Ray was a loving husband to Terry for 59 years and a devoted father. His presence will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
In addition to his wife Terry, Ray is survived by his sons and their wives, Patrick R. Costello (Jill) of Virginia and Thomas J. Costello (Deanne) of Florida and his beloved grandchildren, Brielle, Brennan, Corrine and Connor Costello.
